Heavy selling in early trades; Tata Steel drops 9%

The Nifty is down 187 points at 3,906.

Tata Steel and Reliance Infrastruture have slumped over 9.5% each to Rs 670 and Rs 715, respectively.

HDFC has plunged 7.5% to Rs 1,885. DLF has shed 7% at Rs 394, and Jaiprakash Assocaites has tumbled 6.5% to Rs 135.

Reliance Communications and ICICI Bank have slipped nearly 6% each to Rs 394 and Rs 587, respectively.
