On Friday, crude oil prices on New York Mercantile Exchange rose to a fresh high of $142.99 a barrel on weak dollar and supply concerns after BP announced it was closing a key refinery in the Netherlands for maintenance and repair.

A weakening dollar makes dollar-denominated commodities like crude oil and metals cheaper for buyers.
