Lead futures down on global cues

 Lead prices weakened by 0.72 % to Rs 138 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in squaring-up of positions in view of ending settlement amid a weak global trend.
    
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January weakened by Re one, or 0.72%, to Rs 138 per kg in business turnover of 378 lots.
 
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December traded lower by 90 paise, or 0.65% to Rs 136.70 per kg in 268 lots.
 
Market analysts attributed the fall in lead futures to squaring up of positions in view of monthly settlement and a weak global trend.
