Lead up 0.4% on overseas cues

Strong domestic demand from battery-makers supported the trade

Lead futures prices today gained 0.40%, to Rs 112.95 per kg on rising demand nin spot markets and positive cues from global markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the May contract traded 45 paise, or 0.40%, higher at Rs 112.95 per kg in 580 lots.

The June contract also rose by 45 paise, or 0.40%, to trade at Rs 113.40 per kg in 32 lots.

Analysts said besides strong domestic demand from battery-makers, a firm trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) influenced lead prices at futures trade here.
