Market end higher led by defensive sectors
BSE-FMCG, consumer durables, pharmaceuticals led gains
SI Reporter Mumbai Market ended higher this Tuesday as investors opted to buy defensive stocks such as fast moving consumer goods, pharmaceuticals amid brewing concerns over lack of support to Congress-led UPA government from its key political allies.
The Bombay Stock Exchange's 30-share index Sensex gained 10.42 points and provisionally ended at 18691.84 while the National Stock Exchange's 50-share Nifty rose 3.15 points at 5637.00 on provisional basis.
