Indian equity, forex, money and commodity markets will remain closed today on account of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Indian equity, forex, money and commodity markets will remain closed today on account of Ganesh Chaturthi.

On Friday, benchmark share indices firmed up in the latter half of the trading session to end higher with auto shares gaining the most on the back of encouraging sales growth in August. The S&P BSE Sensex ended up 109 points at 28,532 and the Nifty50 gained 35 points to settle at 8,810.

Foreign institutional investors were net buyers in equities worth Rs 231 crore on Friday, as per provisional stock exchange data.
