Markets off day's high

After a strong opening, the markets are now off the day's low. The Sensex is now up 118 points at 16,908.

The Nifty is up 37 points at 5,025.

Among the Sensex 30-stocks, DLF continues to be the top gainer, up 2.5% at Rs 460. Hindalco and ITC have increased over 2% each to Rs 141 and Rs 252, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Power, Wipro and HDFC have advanced over 1.5% each to Rs 917, Rs 1,446,Rs 586 and Rs 2,721, respectively.

On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro is the major loser, down 2% at Rs 1,580.

All sectoral indices, barring capital goods, are in the green today. The BSE realty, healthcare and FMCG indices have gained 1.5% to 2% each.

The market breadth is fairly positive. Out of 2,317 stocks traded 1,668 have advanced while 575 have declined.
