Mentha oil extended gains for the seventh straight session by adding 0.21% to Rs 860.70 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, tracking a firming trend at spot market on rising demand from consuming industries.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in November gained Rs 1.80, or 0.21%, to Rs 860.70 per kg in business turnover of 69 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 1.60, or 0.18%, to Rs 872.50 per kg in 18 lots.

Analysts attributed the persistent rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade to speculative positions created by participants, supported by rising demand from consuming industries amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
