Nickel strengthens 0.2% on spot demand

Prices strengthened as speculators enlarged their positions

Nickel futures for March rose by Rs 1.50, or 0.17%, to Rs 909 per kg in 1,442 lots.     

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contracts traded higher by Rs 1.30, or 0.14%, to Rs 916.40 per kg in 117 lots.

Prices strengthened as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking firm spot market trend on pick up in demand from alloy-makers.

Besides, a firm trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) also influenced prices.
