Sensex down 205pts; NTPC, Bharti Airtel up 3%

The Sensex is now down 205 points at 11,596.

Sterlite has slumped over 8% to Rs 308. Mahindra & Mahindra has tumbled over 7% to Rs 467.

HDFC Bank and Larsen & Toubro have plunged over 6% each to Rs 1,128 and Rs 1,019, respectively.

TCS has dropped over 5% to Rs 587. Satyam has shed 4.4% to Rs 281.

Tata Power has slipped over 4% to Rs 765. Wipro and ITC have dropped around 3.5% each to Rs 308 and Rs 174, respectively. ACC is down 3% at Rs 581.

Ranbaxy has surged 3.8% to Rs 256.

NTPC, Bharti Airtel and Grasim have rallied 2.7% each to Rs 173, Rs 749 and Rs 1,633, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, BHEL and DLF have advanced over 2% each to Rs 653, Rs 1,481 and Rs 308, respectively.

Out of 2,595 stocks traded so far, 1,886 have declined, 644 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
