The Sensex is now down 214 points at 9,322.
Reliance has slumped over 5% to Rs 1,102. BHEL has plunged 4.5% to Rs 1,277.
Mahindra & Mahindra, Sterlite, HDFC and Wipro have tumbled over 4% each to Rs 327, Rs 227, Rs 1,570 and Rs 238, respectively.
Maruti and Tata Motors have dropped over 3% each to Rs 543 and Rs 145, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates and Larsen & Toubro have slipped nearly 3% each to Rs 75 and Rs 804, respectively.
DLF, Infosys and ACC have declined over 2.5% each to Rs 238, Rs 1,227 and Rs 448, respectively.

Ranbaxy has moved up 1.7% to Rs 218. ONGC and Tata Power are up 1.4% each at Rs 722 and Rs 742, respectively.
The market breadth was fairly negative - out of 2,271 stocks traded so far, 1,380 have declined, 796 have advanced and 95 are unchanged.
