Sensex down 250pts; DLF, Jaiprakash lead fall

The Sensex is now down 259 points at 9,165.

DLF has slumped 10.7% to Rs 158, and Jaiprakash Associates has tumbled 8.3% to Rs 70.

Hindalco and HDFC have plunged over 6% each to Rs 46 and Rs 1,443, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Steel have shed 5.5% each at Rs 550 and Rs 175, respectively.

Tata Motors has dropped 4.5% to Rs 143. Wipro, Sterlite and TCS have slipped around 4% each to Rs 221, Rs 265 and Rs 492, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, SBI and ONGC have declined around 3.5% each to Rs 401, Rs 611, Rs 1,111 and Rs 636, respectively.

Ranbaxy and ACC are down 3% each at Rs 209 and Rs 490, respectively.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,276 stocks traded so far, 1,303 have declined, 880 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
