Sensex flat; TCS slumps 9%, breadth +ve

The NSE Nifty is down two points at 5,035.

TCS has slumped 9.5% to Rs 899. Satyam has plunged 5% to Rs 436. Wipro has shed 4.7% at Rs 433, and Infosys has slipped 3.7% to Rs 1,585.

Ranbaxy has dropped 3% to Rs 484. Reliance Communications and Mahindra & Mahindra are down over 1% each at Rs 553 and Rs 631, respectively.

DLF has surged 2.6% to Rs 668. ACC and ICICI Bank have rallied 2.3% each to Rs 819 and Rs 884, respectively.

NTPC and BHEL have gained 2% each at Rs 198 and Rs 1,808, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has moved up nearly 2% to Rs 237, and Cipla has added 1.7% to Rs 230.

HDFC and ITC have advanced 1.5% each at Rs 2,522 and Rs 212, respectively.

The market breadth is positive - out of 2,543 stocks traded so far, 1,436 have advanced, 1,047 have declined and 60 are unchanged.
