The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 147 points at 13,007. However, lack of buying at higher levels has led the index slip into the negative zone. The index is now down 47 points at 12,813.
Larsen & Toubro is trading ex-bounus at Rs 1,187.
Satyam has soared nearly 4% to Rs 308. Infosys has surged 2.7% to Rs 1,435.
Grasim, Jaiprakash Associates and Maruti have rallied over 2% each to Rs 1,726, Rs 113 and Rs 701, respectively.
Ranbaxy has gained 1.5% at Rs 252. HDFC and Mahindra & Mahindra are up over 1% each at Rs 2,167 and Rs 515, respectively.
Reliance Communications has plunged 3% to Rs 324, and Sterlite has tumbled 2.7% to Rs 417.
Reliance, TCS and Bharti Airtel have dropped 1.7% each to Rs 1,912, Rs 652 and Rs 773, respectively.
SBI has shed 1.4% at Rs 1,445. Reliance Infrastructure is down over 1% at Rs 781.
