The Sensex is now down 210 points at 9,120.
Tata Steel has slumped 5.3% to Rs 197. Sterlite and HDFC has tumbled around 5% each to Rs 257 and Rs 1,471, respectively.
Bharti Airtel has plunged 4.6% to Rs 617, and Mahindra & Mahindra has dropped 4.3% to Rs 296.
Reliance Communications and ICICI Bank have shed 4% each at Rs 178 and Rs 397, respectively.
ACC and Jaiprakash Associates have slipped over 3.5% each to Rs 484 and Rs 67, respectively.
Hindalco and Maruti have declnied 3.3% each to Rs 49 and Rs 560, respectively.

NTPC is rebounded into the positive zone and is now up over 1% at Rs 180.
The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,341 stocks traded so far, 1,329 have declined, 924 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
