Silver down 0.2% in futures trade

Silver prices fell 0.25% to Rs 43,765 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in off-loading positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July lost Rs 111, or 0.25%, to Rs 43,765 per kg, with a turnover of 25 lots.

Also, silver for delivery in May shed Rs 62, or 0.14%, to Rs 42,984 per kg, in a business turnover of 564 lots.

Analysts said a weak trend in global markets as further signs of recovery in the US boosted the case for the Federal Reserve to keep reducing stimulus, put pressure on silver prices at futures trade here.

Meanwhile, in Singapore, silver lost 0.10% to USD 19.75 an ounce after dropping to USD 19.68 yesterday, the lowest level since February 5.
