Small sugar remains sluggish on lower demand

Small sugar prices continue to rule weak at the Vashi Wholesale market here today on fewer demand from retailers coupled with adequate stock positions.

Meanwhile, medium sugar variety moved up slightly owing to stray buyng support.

Small sugar quality (S-30) moved down by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,851/2,891 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,861/2,901. 

Medium sugar quality (M-30), however looked up at Rs 2,892/2,951 per quintal, as compared to Rs 2,891/2,951. 

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,851/2,891 (Rs 2,861/ 2,901) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,892/2,951 (Rs 2,891/2,951)
