Turmeric futures marginally up on rising demand

Turmeric futures prices traded marginally higher by Rs 28 to Rs 7,118 per quintal today on pick-up in demand in the spot market.  

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for August delivery rose by Rs 28, or 0.39%, to Rs 7,118 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,590 lots. 

Similarly, the spice for September delivery rose by Rs 20, or 0.28%, to Rs 7,178 per quintal, with a business turnover of 4,495 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in turmeric futures prices to a rising spot demand.
