Turmeric prices slipped by Rs 146 to Rs 7,214 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators reduced their positions on lack of demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for September delivery slipped by Rs 146, or 1.98%, to Rs 7,214 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,970 lots.
The August contract lost Rs 144, or 1.98%, to Rs 7,132 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,225 lots.
Analysts said lack of demand in the spot markets against adequate stocks mainly put pressure on the turmeric futures prices here.
