One Direction band members have nabbed the top five spots in the most influential British list on Twitter.

According to 'PeerIndex', the top five spots have been grabbed by the boy-band beating stars like David Cameron, Steven Fry and Ricky Gervais, the Mirror reported.

All the lads have scored 98 out of 100, except Zayn Malik, who scored 97.

'PeerIndex' is based on the impact the celebrities have on their followers, rather than simply counting the number of followers each person has.

It is based on analysis of more than 10 billion tweets from 150 million people, focusing on UK Twitter users.
