Pakistan's interim government has formed two sub-committees to discuss financial requirements for former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and to expedite the process of its merger with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
As reported by the Tribune, the decision to form sub-panels was taken during a meeting of a committee formed to facilitate the merger of FATA and Provincially Administered Tribal Areas (PATA) with the K-P in line with the recently-passed 25th Constitutional Amendment.
The meeting was chaired by Minister for Law and Justice Ali Zafar at the Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (Safron). Both leaders urged for a smooth merging process to be undertaken.
"All immediate steps including administrative, financial and judicial must be taken for long-term guidelines as the merger implementation process must be made smooth and successful at all costs," Zafar said in a press statement.
Further, the decisions taken at the last meeting were also reviewed.
They discussed the rehabilitation of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in their respective areas.
