Many people use night creams, day creams, sunscreens, and exfoliating scrubs to keep their faces looking dewy-fresh, but overlook the biggest age indicator of all - hands.

Dawn Davis, beauty editor at TotalBeauty.com, have offered some handcare tips to keep your hands looking as young as you feel, according to Huffington Post.

Sun damage is the biggest culprit for aging hands, according to Davis.

So, she said the best way to help keep your hands from aging is to keep them out of the sun and to use sunscreen.

To fade any dark spots you may have, Davis recommends using a moisturizing, "anti-aging hand cream with brightening ingredients," such as "kojic acid, mushroom extract, vitamin C, and licorice".

She advises a once-weekly homemade scrub to keep your hands clean, moisturized, and exfoliated.

To do this, Davis said, just combine equal parts "sugar and olive oil, and massage it into your hands.

She recommends low-cost hand-care products like Vaseline Intensive Rescue Healing Hand Cream nightly and Boots Protect and Perfect Hand Cream with SPF 15 each day.

Apply a hand cream with higher SPF on days you anticipate greater sun exposure, she says.

For those who drive a lot, she suggests to wear gloves.

But don't forget your nails. To get stronger nails, apply cuticle oil every day, even over a manicure because healthy nails start with healthy cuticles, Davis said.

Regular use of nail polish can affect your nails.

Give your nails a break from polish to let it recover, Davis said.

Always wear gloves when doing the dishes and avoid harsh soap and hot water, she added.
