Michael Shannon recently revealed that after his screen test for the role of 'The Iceman', director Ariel Vromen uploaded his screen test on youtube to check public opinion and the video received 200,000 hits.
Vromen along with the producer did a screen test of one of the script's most crucial scenes and for the director, casting the scene was as critical as any other aspect of film making.
"I realized that in order to showcase anything at that stage, it was most important to show that I have a good eye for choosing who I want to star in this film," Vromen said.
Recalling the incident, actor Michael Shannon said, "It was an opportunity for Ariel to get a little warm-up because he wanted to make this film for such a long time. I think it was good to get that practice run and see what it was like. And it was a lot of fun."
The film is a story based on a real-life hitman who in 1986 was convicted of murdering 100 men for various crime organizations around the New York area.
The movie also casts Winona Ryder, Chris Evans, Ray Liotta, David Schwimmer, Robert Davi and Danny Abeckaser.
The film, which also features cameo appearances by Stephen Dorff and James Franco, is set to release in India on 28th June, 2013.
