Pakistan T20 skipper Shahid Afridi has defended himself after the recent spat with television journalist who questioned his captaincy, saying he always respects others and demands the same in return.
The incident took place during the ongoing camp in Lahore when Afridi was asked by Dunya News journalist Sanaullah Khan as to how he would improve his captaincy following a humiliating 0-3 defeat in the three-match T20 series against England in UAE.
Furious by the question, Afridi said that he expected such a pathetic and low question from him, Sport24 reported.
Afridi's reaction invited anger from the journalists, who decided to boycott the remainder of the planned events and demanded an apology.
The skipper insisted that it was under his captaincy that Pakistan had climbed up to number two in the rankings, admitting that his side made basic errors against England that led to their downfall.
Pakistan team manager Intikhab Alam, however, managed to pacify the media as a result of which they returned to cover the camp on the final day.
Alam said that he had a conversation with Afridi, adding he hopes that such an incident wouldn't repeat in the future.
