Al-Qaeda plotter Zacarias Moussaoui has said that "extremely famous" officials of the Saudi royal family helped fund the 9/11 attacks.
According to BBC, Moussaoui is imprisoned in Colorado for his role in the attacks.
His statement came to the fore when it was filed in court as a response to a Saudi bid to drop the suit.
Saudi Arabia declined all accusation saying he was a "deranged criminal" with no credibility.
Moussaoui was imprisoned weeks before the 9/11 attacks over immigrations charges and was in jail at the time of the attacks.
