After clinching his fifth title of the year at the recently-concluded China Open, world number two Andy Murray has referred to 2016 as the 'most consistent year' of his tennis career.
The Briton, who has already assured his place at the season-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, defeated Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) to lift his maiden China Open trophy.
"It's been the most consistent year of my career, getting to the latter stages of most of the events I have played," Murray was quoted as saying by Sport24.
Murray, who didn't drop a single set throughout the tournament in Beijing, heaped praise over his own form after overcoming a high-level match against Dimitrov.
"Grigor fought right to the end and made it extremely tough to finish it in two sets .It's been an excellent week and I'm very happy with the way that I have played the last couple of matches. I will look forward to Shanghai now," he added.
It was Murray's 40th title overall, having earlier sealed victories at Italian Open, Queen's Club Championships, Wimbledon Championships and Rio Olympic Games this year.
