Renowned director Ang Lee is ready for his next project and will be helming an adaptation of Ben Fountain's novel Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.

According to Deadline.com, the film would be Oscar winning director's first project since 'Life Of Pi', for which he would be re-teaming with Tom Rothman at TriStar.

The story is centered on Billy Lynn, a 19-year-old soldier whose squad survived an Iraq battle that was captured on news cameras and made them instant heroes. The movie was frame in the backdrop of that game, with flashbacks of what the soldier went through with his team mates.

Lee said that he was very excited to work again and that too with his old mate Rothman, adding that what gripped him about the project was storytelling and he was looking forward to start the creative process with the amazing team.

Rothman added that Lee was an "exceptional artist" and always found new challenges with every film as he was "incapable of repeating himself." Hence, he was sure that the film would a "true original."

The film, which was scripted by Simon Beaufoy and would begin production in 2015, would be produced by Lee, Ink Factory's Stephen Cornwell, Rhodri Thomas and Simon Cornwell and by Film4.
