Sharon Stone has revealed that she was very angry when she first watched her provocative leg-crossing scene in 'Basic Instinct' for the first time, that she even slapped the director for it.

The actress was initially reluctant to remove her underwear for the famous scene, but the director of the film, Paul Verhoeven, had assured her that nothing would be seen on the screen, Contactmusic reported.

The 55-year-old actress said that when they shot the scene, it was decided that it will be an innuendo and the director had asked her to remove the underwear as its colour was visible.

She said that she put the underwear in his shirt pocket after being promised that nothing would be visible, and was told to look at the monitor.

She said that back then, there was no such thing as high definition, so she couldn't really see anything when she looked at the monitor.

However, the actress said that when she saw the movie for the first time with a bunch of other people, she was in shock and then she slapped the director after the film ended.
