The Recording Academy recently revealed its nominations for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards and to top the list is ace crooner Beyonce with her album 'Lemonade'.
The 35-year-old singer, who has earlier won 20 Grammys, has bagged nominations in major categories including record of the year, song of the year and album of the year, reports the Guardian.
She's closely followed by Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West, who all have eight nominations each.
English singer-songwriter Adele, who has previously won 10 Grammys, has, this year scored five nominations for her album '25'.
This year's new artist category sees Chance the Rapper, who received seven nominations in total and is in contention for snagging multiple awards including Best Rap Album making his 13-song Coloring Book project, the first streaming-only album to receive a Grammy nomination.
Others in the category include Anderson Paak, Maren Morris, Kelsey Ballerino and the Chainsmokers.
Late English singer-songwriter David Bowie has also picked up posthumous nominations in five categories, including best rock performance and best rock song.
With this, the Recording Academy launched the 2017 awards season with the unveiling of hundreds of nominations over 84 award categories.
