Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said the Indian Army personnel are paying with their blood for the opportunistic alliance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

"PDP says 'talks' with Pakistan. BJP Defence Minister says 'Pakistan will pay the price'. While our soldiers pay with their blood for BJP/ PDP's opportunistic alliance and non-existent Kashmir policy; Modi Ji dithers," Gandhi said in a tweet.

The Congress president's tweet comes after six people were killed in a terror attack at the Sunjawan army base in Jammu.

Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba has claimed responsibility for the attack, while intelligence agencies blame Jaish-e-Mohammed group for the assault.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as a counter-measure on Monday pitched for resuming talks with Pakistan, whereas Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had a completely different approach to the incident.

Sitharaman on Monday said: "Pakistan will have to pay for the misadventure."

The Congress President also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi disrespected fellow countrymen while saying that nothing was done in this country for the last 70 years.

"When Modiji says that nothing was done in this country for last 70 years, he is disrespecting your parents, ancestors and the farmers. A country is not run by a single person," he said.
