Welsh striker Gareth Bale is so attached to his mother that when the washing machine at his London flat broke down, he drove 200 miles down to Cardiff, to take his washing home to her.
According to the Mirror, the story typifies 24-year-old Bale, one of the best footballers on the planet, whose heart very much remains with his family and close friends in the leafy suburb of Whitchurch in the Welsh capital.
Currently, Bale lives in a 1.3 million pound detached house a few hundred yards from the old Spurs training ground in Chigwell, Essex, which he shares with a cousin, the report said.
Bale is currently in talks to sign with Real Madrid in a world record transfer that would go above 100 million pounds.
