'Ashes-aiming' Johnson wants to instill fear factor in England batsmen

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has said that he wants to put a 'bit of fear' into batsmen, especially English ones, as he aims to reclaim his Test place for this winter's Ashes.

According to BBC, Johnson, who was overlooked for the 3-0 Ashes defeat, is in the Twenty20 and one-day squads to face England and will play in Saturday's T20 game at Durham, with Australia 1-0 up in the two-match series.

Although the left-arm bowler is regarded as figure of fun among England fans for his wayward bowling in previous Ashes series, he, however, said that when he started playing cricket, one of the main reasons of wanting of play was to get batsmen out and for them to fear him.

Stating that he is enjoying himself at the moment, Johnson also said that he would love to get back playing Test match cricket and play in the return Ashes series, starting in Australia in November.

Although the emergence of young bowlers like James Pattinson and Mitchell Starc, along with a toe injury that has kept him sidelined for most of last year, has seen Johnson fall out of favour in the Test set-up, he, however, believes that he can still help Australia to win his first Ashes series this winter.

Johnson, who has taken 205 wickets in 51 Tests, also said that he feels that his bowling is where he wants it to be, adding that he is bowling with good pace and can swing the ball and bowl a good short ball again when the conditions are right.
