Banned Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir has said that even without him Pakistan is a strong team and his absence from the squad would not hurt them.
Amir is hoping to return to cricket before a five-year ban ends next year if the International Cricket Council (ICC) amends its anti-corruption code. His spot-fixing ban is due to end in September 2015, but Pakistani cricket officials have applied for it to be relaxed, with the matter likely to be finalised in October.
The paceman was found guilty of spot-fixing during a Test at Lord's in 2010 with two team-mates, spent three months in a British jail and was banned in 2011 from the game by the ICC, The BBC reported.
Amir said that whether he is able to play the World Cup 2015 or not it's not in his hands but even without him Pakistan is a strong team and has the prayers and good wishes of all the fans in the country.
Amir added that he trains hard and would resume training in the next few days, so from his side he would be ready whenever the go-ahead comes.
