Bapex discovers new gas field in Rupganj

New gas field has been discovered by the Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration Company (Bapex) at Rupganj in Narayanganj.

Managing Director of Bapex, Abdul Baqi has revealed that the 26th gas reservoir of the country has been found at Block-20 of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha's Purbachal plot, Bangladesh's Daily Star reported.

However, he added that the total volume of gas in the reservoir will be determined after calculating the data.

Bapex had started drilling in Rupganj in March under a Tk 65 crore programme.
