Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan on Saturday said that the sudden entry of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in the electoral battle in Bihar would not affect the NDA's performance in the state.
"We welcome the decision. They (AIMIM) can contest the elections from wherever they want. Coming from a different state, even if Owaisi tries to take away our votes, it can't go beyond 15 percent," he told the media here.
Paswan further said that BJP chief Amit Shah would provide details about the seat-sharing for the polls.
"It will not be suitable for me to speak on numbers in public domain. BJP president Amit Shah will inform you about the seat-sharing. We never had a stubborn attitude as far as seat sharing is concerned. Our main objective is to ensure that we play a vital role in NDA's victory," he said.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has announced that his party will contest the Bihar polls from the Seemanchal region.
Owaisi said that the agenda would be overall development of the Seemanchal region.
The term of the 243-member Bihar Assembly election comes to an end on November 29. The polls in the state will begin on October 12 and end on November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8.
