Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections there is a battle between ideologies of the Congress Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"Elections are going on. It is the battle of ideologies. At one end there is the Congress party who want a united India. An India of Poor, rich, all religions and castes. If there is progress, then we want it to be equally distributed among everybody. On the other hand there is the BJP, who wants to divide the country. One belonging to rich businessmen, and the other belonging to poor and backward people," said Rahul while addressing a rally here.
He alleged that BJP does politics of aggression and anger, and added that they make people fight with each other.
"We have given 70000 crore rupees to the farmers of this country. We don't take time to help the farmers. It is our responsibility to take everybody with us," he added.
He said that the Centre had given Rs. 500 crore rupees to the Madhya Pradesh Government in relief when there were unseasonal rains in the region, but it did not reach the farmers.
He also raked up the recruitment scam in Madhya Pradesh and said: "They talk that they will provide employment. Then this scam takes place. It has affected youth of MP. Even their minister has acknowledged this in the Vidhan Sabha. But still the culprits are out of jail and there is no investigation against them."
"Their leaders talk a lot about corruption in their speeches but they themselves have indulged in massive corruption," he added.
