Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Sher Singh Dagar, who has been accused by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of bribing its members, has denied any wrongdoing.

"I have been in politics for the past 44 years, right from my days as a student to today. Nobody can point a finger at me in Delhi, because if you ask anybody, you will find that my name is unstained," Dagar told a press conference here.

Dagar challenged the AAP to prove the allegations against him.

"If somebody can prove these allegations against me, then I will retire from public life," he said.

Referring to the video shot by the AAP, Dagar further said that the members of Arvind Kejriwal's party had in fact come to his house and that he never offered to give any member Rs. four crores.

"They are simply spinning a tale. If you see the footage, I have not mentioned Rs four crores even once. There was a conversation but I have not offered them anything. In fact, we have our own candidates in these constituencies in whom we have great faith. In fact, the AAP MLAs offered to leave their party and join us," he said.

"The 'higher up' that I talked to on the phone, as is being claimed, was in fact a friend of mine, whom I called to enquire about the nature of the AAP member," he added.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal earlier in the day claimed that his party had recorded a video of Dagar trying to bribe AAP MLAs.
