Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said that his party will think over Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar's statement that he is ready to form an alliance with the BJP in the state.

"Sharad Pawar's statement has just come, we will think about it as to why did he make this statement, what are his intentions behind it, what does he want, what are his demands, we will discuss about each and everything and with whom should we go. The decision will be taken considering what is in favour of Maharashtra," said Fadnavis.

He added that the BJP's Parliamentary Board will take a final call on the issue.

Fadnavis assured that the BJP will form the government in Maharashtra and also give the state its next Chief Minister.

The Maharashtra BJP chief also thanked the people for voting for his party in the state.

He also clarified that there was never a dispute between the BJP and its former alliance partner the Shiv Sena. He said the BJP has never considered the Shiv Sena as its political opponent.

The BJP and Shiv Sena had parted ways ahead of the assembly polls over seat sharing issue.

The BJP is emerging as the single largest party in Maharashtra. It has so far bagged 76 seats and is leading in 46 seats.
