Book on history of Assam judiciary released

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi recently released a book titled Asomor Nyaipalikar Itihaas, or Assam Judiciary History at a function at the Vivekananda Kendra in Guwahati.

The book, written by Binayak Dutta and Bhupen Sharma, has been published by the All Assam Lawyers' Association.

Financial assistance for the project was provided by the state government.

According to local media reports, AALA general secretary Sailen Das said that the book fulfills a long standing dream of the All Assam Lawyers Association and other people associated with legal field.

The book was released in the presence of Supreme Court Judge Madan B Lokur, Guwahati High Court Chief Justice AK Goel, State Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, former Supreme Court judge Dr Mukundakam Sarma and educationist Atul Sarma of OKD Institute, among others.
