Brigitte Bardot's biography has revealed that the actress recently struggled with depression and attempted suicide on several occasions.

Jeffrey Robinson, who has penned the biography titled Brigitte Bardot: Two Lives in 1994, said that the 80-year-old actress was a very confused, lonely person in the midst of "overwhelming celebrity", the Independent reported.

Robinson continued that Bardot was a woman who suffered relentless depression but never learned how to deal with it.

Bardot was one of the well-known sex symbols of 1950s and 1960s.
