England cricketer Eoin Morgan is reportedly tipped by British bookmakers to replace Alastair Cook as ODI captain, with an announcement expected in the near future.
Cook is assessing his future as captain and is expected to step down to concentrate on restoring England's fortunes in the Test arena after handing the Ashes to Australia following their 5-0 whitewash.
According to Metro.co.uk, British betting company Ladbrookes has placed heavy odds on Morgan to succeed the current skipper, followed by all-rounder Stuart Broad, with an employee saying that it is just a question of when Cook quits.
The report mentioned that it is long odds-on that Cook will have stepped down by the ICC World Cup in 2015, but those who believe he will stay in charge can take 6/1 the Essex batsman leads England out.
With Australia taking an unassailable 3-0 lead in the ODI series, England's chances of winning the World Cup have drifted out from 6/1 to 7/1, the report added.
