Britain and the U.S have reportedly issued a warning to the opposition group of Syria, threatening to rethink support if the group fails to join peace talks.
According to reports, the U.K and U.S are pushing the group to go to Geneva for next week's talks in Switzerland - known as Geneva II. The peace talks are intended to put an end to the age old civil war in Syria.
However, British government, in public, maintains it will not abandon the Syrian National Council, the BBC reported.
Syria's opposition that remains divided since three years following an uprising, will decide on Friday, whether they will attend the talks or not.
In their attempt to bring the opposition face to face with President Bashar al-Assad's government, Britain and the U.S have the opposition questioning their credibility.
Political support of both the countries is of vital importance to the Syrian opposition and its withdrawal would make a significant difference to their motives.
