Bryan Singer is all set to direct the upcoming 'X

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it was unsure if the 49-year-old filmmaker's would be involved in the project due to allegations of sex abuse filed just weeks before 'Days of Future Past's opening, but in August, Singer's accuser, Michael Egan, withdrew his lawsuit.

20th Century Fox production president, Emma Watts, has said in June, that she really wanted Singer, who had helmed the first two 'X-Men' movies and the 2014 film, which had introduced villain, Apocalypse, in a coda, back for the sequel, as it "always been the intention for him to do it."

The film would follow the end of latest film, which had grossed over 745 million dollars worldwide, and would be set in the 80's, with the cast of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence working with younger versions of the classic characters.
