Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed 100.10 points up to stand at 27,931.64.
At the National Stock Exchange, the Nifty closed 28.60 points up to stand at 8,495.15.
Atul Limited and Jayprakash Associates Limited were among the top gainers of group A with an increase of 10.23 percent and 9.39 percent along with Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Limited and BF Utilities Limited with an increase of 8.24 percent and 8.24 percent respectively. The top losers of group A include Amtek Auto Ltd and Den Networks Ltd with a decrease of 30.77 percent and 7.11 percent along with Kaveri Seeds Company Ltd and Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd with a decrease of 5.95 percent and 4.96 percent at the close of the markets.
The Auto sector is up 90.31 points at 19,544.78 while the Banking sector is down 99.01 points at 21,456.40 and the Realty sector is down 14.26 points at 1,392.05.
The Indian currency is up 0.28 percent at Rs. 65.14 per dollar.
