Cornering the Centre over the decision of changing fuel price on regular/daily basis from May 1, the Congress on Wednesday said the Narendra Modi-led government changes its work-agenda everyday as per its convenience.
"This is the same government that had said to us when we were in power that the Congress is not doing anything to decrease the petrol price. Their agenda changes everyday. This government changes colour according to the situation," Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi told ANI.
Chaturvedi's statement comes in the wake of oil marketing companies' decision to put in place a mechanism under which fuel prices (petrol and diesel) will be revised everyday in sync with international rates.
The daily revision of fuel prices will be first implemented in Puducherry, Vizag, Udaipur, Jamshedpur and Chandigarh.
However, Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan made it clear that the government would not force a decision for daily revision of fuel prices.
"Everyday change in pricing of petroleum products is a recommendation of experts. The government has nothing to do with it," he told ANI.
