China on Saturday hailed North Korea's decision to abandon its nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile tests.

China said North Korea's recent move would help in promoting the denuclearisation bid in the country, Xinhua quotes China's Foreign Minister spokesperson Lu Kang as saying.

Earlier on Saturday, North Korea announced to suspend its nuclear tests and inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) tests immediately.

The decisions were made by the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korean.

China along with Japan, the US, China and South Korea has called for denuclearisation of North Korea.

North Korea further said discontinuance of the nuclear test is an important process for the worldwide disarmament.

Earlier today, United States President Donald Trump also welcomed the move of North Korea regarding abandoning nuclear and missile tests.

Trump tweeted, "North Korea has agreed to suspend all Nuclear Tests and close up a major test site. This is very good news for North Korea and the World - big progress! Look forward to our Summit."

The denuclearisation announcement comes before ahead of the separate planned summits with South Korea and the United States.
