Chris Hemsworth named 'sexiest man alive'

Chris Hemsworth has been branded as 'Sexiest Man Alive' of 2014, by People magazine.

The 31-year-old 'Thor' hunk, who's married to Spanish beauty Elsa Pataky, 38, joked that the accolade had "bought him a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house," and had told his wife that he didn't need to do the dishes or change nappies anymore, the Daily Star reported.

Hemsworth, who's a father of 3, a young daughter and twin sons, succeeds last year's winner Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine.

Actors who have been honoured with the title include Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Patrick Swayze, Sean Connery, Ben Affleck, Channing Tatum and Mel Gibson, who was the first in 1985.
