Coast Guard has responded successfully to maritime challenges: Mukherjee

President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday praised the Indian Coast Guard for responding to maritime challenges successfully, and hoped it would continue to pursue excellence and discharge its duties with alacrity, dedication and professionalism.

Extending his greetings and felicitations to all ranks of the Indian Coast Guard and their families on the occasion of 38th Anniversary of the Indian Coast Guard to be celebrated on February 1, 2015, President Mukherjee said, "I am happy to learn that the Indian Coast Guard is celebrating its 38th Anniversary on February 1, 2015. Over the years, the Indian Coast Guard has been valiantly serving the nation by ensuring the safety and security of fishermen and mariners as also guarding our long coastline and maritime borders."

"The personnel of the Indian Coast Guard have always risen to the occasion in the face of emerging maritime challenges and responded beyond the call of duty. I am sure that the Indian Coast Guard will continue to pursue excellence and discharge its duties with alacrity, dedication and professionalism," he added.

"I extend my heartiest greetings to all ranks of the Indian Coast Guard and their families. Let the Indian Coast Guard achieve continued success in all its future endeavours," Mukherjee said.
