The Congress Party on Thursday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for labelling the opposition as 'hawalabaaz' and said that 125 crore people of the nation will decide who is a traitor, as he has failed to fulfil the promises made during the Lok Sabha polls.

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said the 125 crore people of this country is calling the ruling NDA Government as 'hawabaaj' and 'dagabaaaj'.

"What happened to the fake promise of Prime Minister Modi ahead of the Lok Sabha elections of depositing Rs. 15 lakhs into everyone's account after bringing back black money stashed abroad," Surjewala told media here.

"What happened to the promise made to farmers of giving 50 percent profit of the cost? And now after coming to power, he has brought the 70 crore farmers on the verge of committing suicide. The 125 crore people of this nation will decide who is a traitor," he added.

Prime Minister, who won the 2014 general elections on the promise of an economic revival, earlier lashed out at the opposition for obstructing key reforms like the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in Parliament.
