Delhi polls: BJP's second set of 'five questions' to AAP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday continued its exercise of posing five questions to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a part of its ongoing election campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls.

Speaking at a press conference, BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman said, "We are raising these questions. Some people may say they are old ones, they have been heard very often... it does not matter. The people of Delhi, before they vote, want to know the answer from the Aam Aadmi Party about these questions."

"We will bring many more as and when there are issues coming up," she added.

Further, the BJP leader also criticized the AAP for its 'shoot and scoot' policy.

"The BJP never runs away from debate, but the DNA of AAP is to not have debates. The DNA of AAP is to scoot after shooting," she said.

The questions posed by the BJP to the AAP were:

"Did you not find volunteers to ask for votes in Delhi?" in reference to the AAP's foreign volunteers.

"Is this the way to deal with a career-based woman who has come out successfully in her career," in reference to the AAP terming the BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi as 'opportunist'.

"Why are all the female members of the AAP leaving the party? Is it their anti-women stance?" in reference to leaders like Shazia Ilmi and Madhu Bhaduri leaving the AAP.

"Why does the AAP have no respect for the institution of the Election Commission?"

"AAP's intention is not to strengthen Lokayukta. How many times did they raise that issue after their 49 days in the power? Why did AAP ignore Lokayukta?"

BJP began the exercise on Thursday which is expected to last till February 5, the last day of electioneering.

The 70-seat assembly election in Delhi is scheduled to take place on February 7, with the counting of the votes to take place on February 10.
